One-Roll Bets or Proposition Bets

  • The Proposition area (one-roll bets) is the section of the table in which you will be betting on one specific roll of the dice. The odds of winning on this area of the table vary; check each combination to view the odds. In order to win in this area, the numbers have to appear exactly as shown, no other combinations will win. You can view all combinations here (A).
  • The Field (B) is the section for one-roll bets in which you bet that one of seven numbers will occur (2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12) on the next roll of the dice. You don’t have to place your bet on any specific number, just place it on the Field. If one of those numbers comes up, you win, if it doesn’t, you lose.
  • If you bet on the area marked Any Craps (C), you’ll win if the rolled number is 2, 3, or 12.
  • Seven (D): you win in this section if the next number rolled is any combination of the dice that adds up to seven (4 and 3, 2 and 5, 6 and 1).
  • C and E (E) on the table stand for Craps and Eleven (Yo). This is what’s called a combination bet. You are betting that the shooter will roll Any Craps (2, 3, 12) and 11. If any of those numbers come out, you will win.

Placing the Odds

d3737d8ca464ef45ea82ced9f9aa6d0a.jpg

  • Pass Line odds: If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is thrown on the Come Out Roll (i.e., if a Point is established), most casinos allow pass line players to take odds by placing up to some predetermined multiple of the Pass line bet, behind the Pass line. This additional bet wins if the Point is rolled again before a 7 is rolled (the Point is made) and pays at the true odds.
  • Don’t Pass odds: If a player is playing Don’t Pass instead of Pass, they may also lay odds, meaning they are betting that a 7 comes before the Point is rolled. Like the Pass Line, these bets are paid at true odds.
  • Come and Don’t Come Odds: Odds bets can be made on the Come and Don’t Come bets as well and follows the same rules as the Pass and Don’t Pass odds.

Why most craps players dont bet the Dont

Craps is a dice game in which the players make wagers on the outcome of the roll, or a series of rolls, of a pair of dice. Players may wager money against each other playing «street craps» or a bank playing » casino craps», also known as «table craps», or often just «craps».

abcef62e97bc1fcd185262407e814005.jpg

Because it requires little equipment, «street craps» can be played in informal settings. Craps developed in the United States from a simplification of the western European game of Hazard. The origins of Hazard are obscure and may date to the Crusades. Hazard was brought from London to New Orleans about by the returning Bernard Xavier Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville , the young gambler and scion of a family of wealthy colonial Louisiana landowners.

Both Hazard and its new offshoot were unfamiliar and rejected by Americans of his social class, leading de Marigny to introduce his novelty to the local underclass. Fieldhands taught their friends, and deckhands carried the new game up the Mississippi River. Celebrating the popular success of his novelty, de Marigny gave the name Craps to a street in his New Orleans real estate development. The central game, called Pass from the French word for pace or step, has been gradually supplemented over the decades by many companion games which can be played simultaneously.

The entire collection of over one hundred separate and independent possible games is called Craps. The name Craps was a Louisiana mispronunciation of the word «crabs», which in London had been the joint epithet for the numbers two and three, which in Hazard are the only permanent instant losing numbers for wagers on Pass. For a century after its invention, Craps was abused by casinos using unfair dice. To remedy the problem, about a Philadelphia dice maker named John H. Winn introduced a layout which featured bets on both Pass and Don’t Pass.

Every game has its own jargon and gambling is no exception. This alphabetized index of craps terms will quickly become your Craps bible because it has almost every term you can think of. Any Craps — A one unit one roll bet the next roll will be 2, 3, 12 with the payout usually being 7 to 1. Apron — The area behind the pass line on the craps table. All free odd bets are placed on the apron. Arm — Skilled dice throwers who have believably mastered dice control and can manipulate the way the game is played.

Bar — Is a standoff with no total wins or losses. In this situation, bets placed may be withdrawn or alternatively, carried over to the next betting roll. Big 6 — A bet that a 6 will show before a 7 on the next roll. The payout is 1 to 1. Big 8 — A bet that an 8 will show before a 7 on the next roll. Box Man — The casino employee who supervises the dealers at the Craps table.

He is usually also responsible for counting cash and gaming checks, settlling gambling disputes and general play of the game. The remaining numbers are known as natural numbers. The bet is placed on any of the box numbers and are paid if the number shows before a seven. C and E — A two unit and one roll bet that the next roll will show 2, 3, or Checks — Chips used to play Craps.

They are round, plastic tokens and used for placing bets. Choppy — A game is described as choppy when there are a number of inconsistent passes and misses with none of the players experiencing any good runs of winning throws.

The boxman is then required to call the number on the die that would land face up if the obstruction were to be removed. Cold Table — When shooters do not have much luck making their points or naturals. Color Change — When a player exchanges playing chips for different denominations. Color Up — Is applicable either when a player exchanges smaller denomination checks for larger ones; or when the player is intentionally handed larger checks as part of better customer service.

  • Come Out Roll;
  • Point Roll.

Они довольно просты и не требуют от вас особых навыков. Далее вы сможете изучить другие аспекты геймплея.

  • The odds on each bet are shown at the time you place your bet. If the odds state 30 to 1 (I), it means that if you bet $100 and win, you will earn $3, 000. If the odds are 1:1 (J) on a $100 bet and you win, you’ll earn $100. If you’re a winner, you’ll see a sign like this (K) pop-up; it breaks down your exact winnings for that round.
  • You can bet on several places on the table at a time, you’re not limited to one type of bet per round.
  • The checkmark next to the player’s avatar (L) symbolizes that the player pressed Ready (M).
  • There are 4 stages to the dice animations (N) to represent how ‘Hot’ a shooter is. They go from nothing, to glowing, to sparks, to flames, to red flames. It takes: 2, 4, 8, and 16 rolls respectively. If you crap out, the dice effect is removed immediately and in most all cases the dice are passed to the next shooter. The effect is updated at the end of a roll. So, if you have the dice and you’ve already rolled once. The next time you roll, assuming you don’t crap out, after the dice finish animating, they will begin to glow.

Crapless Craps

Simply said, by giving up the instant win with the 11 on the come-out, you give the house a bigger advantage. The net effect is that the house advantage for a flat Pass Line bet goes up for crapless craps compared to a standard layout. A controlled thrower does not need very much control to overcome about a half percent house edge. In simple terms, the table layout and the calls of the stickman tempt you into makingwagers that have a high house edge whereas there are better and smarter wagers tobe made, such as the Pass Line and the Free Odds bets. The Place payoff odds are 5: Plus, there are no don’t come, don’t pass or lay bets , so a regular game offers more of an advantage to the player than does a crapless game. Remember, too, that money management is the cornerstone of any good betting strategy.

Variations of the Game

There are a number of different versions of Craps, each with their own unique rules and odds. Normally, the only major differences lie within the rules for the come-out roll. However, in a variation like Simplified Craps, for instance, the game shares almost nothing with the original version, with a wholly new betting system and rules.

  • Crapless Craps:Is a popular variation of the game which gives the player better odds by reducing the house edge on come-out rolls. In this version of the game, you cannot lose on the Pass bet. ItвЂs also called “Ruse Craps” or “Never Ever Craps” and is predominantly played outside casinos.
  • Open Craps:Or Private Craps, is the illegal variation of the game with worse odds than the standard version which means that players can win more or lose more, in turn, making it even more exciting. There are a couple more side bets in this game which pay 5% commission to the house, as well as Win and Lose line bets along the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10.
  • High Point Craps:In this alternative if your first roll is a 2 or 3, it is ignored until a different total is made. A roll of 11 or 12 wins even money (1:1), and anything else sets the Point number. The next move is to roll a number higher than the Point to win, anything less will cause you to lose. Apart from this, the basic rules and bets of the standard game apply. The house has a 2.35% edge in this version.
  • New York Craps: Is largely played in New York, some parts of Britain and in the Bahamas. It is very close to the standard version, except that Place bets or Come/DonвЂt Come bets arenвЂt featured in the game. The table design is also slightly different and the casino takes a 5% edge on all winning bets.
  • Simplified Craps:As the name tells, it is ideal for beginners with some uncomplicated rules and a basic betting system, meaning that there arenвЂt any Pass/DonвЂt Pass line bets, Craps or Naturals. You roll the dice and win or lose depending on what number features on the dice. You can win on a throw of 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, or 12 and lose on 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9.

How to Play

While it can certainly be daunting at first, with its busy layout and numerous bet options, the game is actually a lot easier to learn the hang of than it appears. For starters, there is one main bet you need to know. In fact, it’s possible to become a pro at the game, mastering this bet, and nothing else. The ‘passline bet,’ as its referred to, requires you to place your bet on the passline before a new player begins his roll – the come out roll. If a 7 or 11 is rolled, you win. If a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled, you lose. In the event that any other number is rolled, it will serve as the point number, and the player must roll this number again, prior to another 7 being rolled. If he succeeds, even money is awarded for the passline bet. In the event that the point number is not rolled before a 7, then you lose.

259ce45b54ace4d74b052a3b944ecca5.jpg

Another common bet is the ‘odds bet.’ Once the point number has been established, the bettor is given the opportunity to make an additional bet behind the original passline bet.

The passline bet it the easiest to , and will have any beginner well on his way.

Are Strategies helpful

There are many strategies available which follow a system or another to beat the odds at craps. Most of these strategies are just not feasible for instance consider the Martingale bet system where the player doubles his/her bet amount on losing and in the reverse scenario he/she bets the same amount which has been originally betted in the beginning.

The fact that craps is a chance game and literally no one can control a dice’s placement in an online crap, betting increasing amounts is not advisable for it may lead to big losses.

It is always better to consider the worst case first because even if luck comes into play, winning amount may seem rewarding but in reality it is simply not the case.

If a player bets $10 and loses, he will bet $20 for the next round and then $40 for the following and so on. Suppose the player wins at $40 bet, the player is actually winning $40 against $30 which was lost in previous bets and it is really not practical to bet $40 to earn $10. Moreover if it leads to a loss, it many end in heavy loss. Though it is true that for low bets the wins also gives low payouts, but betting wilds amount without any further assurance is not right.

Come

The Come bet works exactly like the Pass bet, except it can be made at any point except a Come Out roll.  You’ll know it is safe to make a Come bet when the laminated marker is on the white On side.

To make a Come bet, simply put the bet the part of the table marked Come.  If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is rolled on the next throw, then that total will be a separate point for purposes of that Come bet.

Odds bets can be made after Come bets in the same manner as a Pass bet.  In my game, place the Odds after a Come bet to the right of the Come bet itself, after it is moved over.  In a live casino, you will have to ask the dealer to do it. The most graceful way is to put the Odds bet in the Come part of the table and tell the dealer, «Odds on the Come bet, please.»

Finally, in one of the quirky rules of craps, any Odds bets on top of Come bets are «turned off» during a Come Out roll.  The Come bets themselves are still active.  If a Come Out roll causes a Come bet to win or lose, then any Odds bet associated with it will be returned as a push.

On the come out roll each player may only make one bet on the Pass or Don’t Pass, but may bet both if desired. This is a bet that involves betting on 1 unit each for 2, 3, 11 and 12 at the same time for the next roll. Die In the Wood — When a die is rolled and it lands in a rack of chips. Note that these payout odds in the chart listed below are not the same in every casino or on all craps tables. The player must specify otherwise if he or she wishes to have the bet not working. A winning bet is when either a 7 or an 11 show on the come out roll. Hard ways hop pays

Craps

See All

  • How do you play Craps?

In craps, the main action of the game is rolling dice with the hopes of getting certain results. The person rolling the dice is known as the «shooter.» The first roll is the come out roll. If this roll is 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12, the round is over. If the roll is any other number, the number becomes the «point» and the round continues until the shooter either rolls the point again or rolls a 7.

Getting Started

ee5851dc52c756d348c95cdf1502306d.jpg

  • The game of Craps is centered on the outcome of rolling a pair of dice.
  • Choose the Craps logo (A) in the lobby of the Big Fish Casino app, and then select the room of your choice (B). The minimum bet for each room is clearly stated (yellow) for each room.

690e840da9a7bf5f93dc78d40d42a9cc.jpg

  • Players take turns rolling the dice. The person throwing the dice is called the ‘shooter.’ The shooter on the board is the person with the dice (C) next to their avatar.
  • The color of the chip next to your avatar (D) will appear on the board once you’ve placed a bet.
  • Each round has two phases: the Come Out Roll and the Point. When the puck on the table is ‘Off’ (E), it means that ‘no Point’ has been established.

bfcf2a3b045973d32e0e3dc9793b18a0.jpg

  • At the beginning of the round, players will place a bet on the Pass line (F) or the Don’t Pass line (G). The shooter will then roll the dice; this is called the Come Out Roll. If the Come Out Roll lands on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, then a Point (the second phase) will be established and a Puck with the ‘On’ side (H) will appear on the table next to the number that was rolled.
  • If the shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12, then the round is over and you lose your bet on the Pass line, but win if you bet on the Don’t Pass line. If the Come Out Roll is a 7 or 11, this is called a ‘Natural Win’. Players on the Pass line win and the ones on the Don’t Pass line lose.
  • If you do not want to bet on the Pass and Don’t Pass lines, you can make bets that don’t require you to wait for a new round to begin. You can read more about these types of bets in the sections below (Come/Don’t Come/Field/Proposition bets).

Closing Words

Craps is one of the best bets out there.  The only three casino games where you can get the house edge under 1% are blackjack, craps, and .  Blackjack and video poker rules keep getting worse, leaving craps as the best bet in many land and Internet casinos, assuming you play only the line bets (pass, don’t pass, come, and don’t come) and back them up with the full Odds.  Whatever you do, stay away from all the long-shot sucker bets just mentioned.

As mentioned in the introduction, craps has a reputation of being difficult to learn.  However, it really is not that bad.  You don’t need to understand every bet to get started.  I would suggest learning them one at a time.  Finally, be sure to practice on my trainer before playing for real money.

Odds

I’m sure you’ve heard the old refrain that the odds are always in the casino’s favor. However, there are two bets you can make with no house advantage. One is the double-up feature found on some video poker games, and the other is the odds bet in craps.

The Odds bet is a supplemental, in-progress, bet you can make after a Point is established, provided you have already made a Pass, Don’t Pass, Come, or Don’t Come bet. I’ll get to those latter two next.

There is no designated area on the table for the Odds bets, probably because the casino is more interested in drawing your attention to the bets with a higher house advantage. To make the Odds bet in my game, place a bet just below it. For an Odds bet after a Don’t Pass bet, place it just below the Don’t Pass line, in that narrow band between the Pass and Don’t Pass lines.  Let me emphasize that the Odds bet on a Pass or Don’t Pass can never be made on a Come Out roll. Wait for the point marker to be on the white «on» side.

In a land casino, you would do pretty much the same thing for an Odds bet after a Pass bet — place it right below the Pass bet, just below the Pass line.  For an Odds bet after a Don’t Pass bet, known as Laying the Odds, the etiquette is not as widely known.  In fact, I played for years doing it incorrectly.  What you’re supposed to do is «heel» the Odds bet.  That means to place it so one edge of the Odds bet is touching the Don’t Pass bet and the other edge is touching the table, next to the Don’t Pass.  For years I put my Odds bet next to the Don’t Pass bet and was never corrected.  However, if you want to look like a pro, as opposed to amateur, heel your Odds after a Don’t Pass.

Now that we’ve covered how to make an Odds bet, let’s talk about what it actually is.

An Odds bet after a Pass bet is a supplemental bet that the point will be rolled before a seven. In other words, it wins or loses exactly as the Pass bet.  No matter what the point is, it is more likely to roll a seven. So, to be fair, the Odds bet pays more than an even money if it wins. The following table shows the probability of winning and the odds it pays according to the point

An Odds bet after a Don’t Pass bet is the opposite — a supplemental bet that a seven will be rolled before the Point. Since a seven will be more likely, you’ll win less than your bet, according to whatever the Point is. The odds are the inverse of the Odds after a Pass bet. Casinos will always limit Odds bets to some multiple of the Line bet they are based on.  A common rule in Las Vegas, and for my game, is known as 3x-4x-5x odds.  This means you can bet 3x the Pass bet on the Odds if the point is a 4 or 10, 4x after a point of 5 or 9, and 5x after a point of 6 or 8.  Note that if you make the maximum Odds bet, you will win 6x the Pass bet on the Odds, regardless of what the Point is.

When Laying the Odds, under the same 3x-4x-5x rules, the maximum you can bet is 6x as much as the Don’t Pass bet.  This will result in a win of 3, 4, or 5 times the Don’t Pass bet, depending on what the Point is.  This is a rule very few, perhaps zero, get right.  Instead, they incorrectly apply the multiple you can bet Laying the Odds relative to the bet amount, not the win amount.  One of the many gambling rules that Internet casinos never seem to understand.

My advice is to bet as much on the Odds as you are comfortable with.  After all, how often do you get a chance to make a bet with no house advantage?  I would suggest sizing your pass line bets so that you are comfortable making the maximum allowed Odds bet.  If that would cause you to bet less than the table minimum on the pass, then bet the minimum and whatever you’re comfortable with on the Odds.

What is Craps

If you’re a gambler, you’ve definitely heard of this popular game. Perhaps you’re even a master of it. But, for those who have come here with questions; we’ve got answers. While it’s more noticeable in a land-based setting, craps takes on a totally different vibe in comparison to other table games, like , for example. If you’ve ever played blackjack, you know it’s an intense game that requires very little talking, and is limited to mostly gestures. Craps, on the other hand, is a bit noisier, as players tend to be pretty vocal, particularly when it comes to their excitement following a win. Simply follow the screams, and you’ll most likely end up at a craps table (as long as there’s winning going on, otherwise you might mistake its dead silence for a blackjack table).

The popular, North American game, is traditionally played with two dice. Players are required to throw the dice, and a total of 7 or 11 results in a win, while a total of 2, 3, or 12, results in a losing throw. Any other total will allow for an additional throw.  It is regarded as a fast-paced game, with an average of 100 rounds per hour, in comparison to something like blackjack, which runs about 100 hands in the same timeframe.

The Secrets to Winning Crapless Craps

Crapless Craps by Wilson of Predictem. I have known guys who have attempted to create several different casino games but none have succeeded.

However, a gentleman named Bob Stupak was successful with crapless craps. The casino profits were said to be over million a year during the first few years.

People typically enjoy trying new things and crapless craps was a fresh twist to the traditional classic. But the question remains- is crapless craps really a better deal for the bettor? In the traditional game of craps players have a chance to lose on the come out roll. For example, if the numbers 2, 3 or 12 are rolled the player loses, but if a 7 or 11 shows then the player wins. In crapless craps if a shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12 they are treated as points, just like the 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and Also, if a shooter rolls an 11 it too is considered a point number.

In fact, the only way you can win on the come out roll while playing crapless craps is to roll a 7. The numbers 2, 3, 11, and 12 are lined up next to the 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 as point numbers.

Placing the Odds

e3018a283429d1ede6b452c1b7c76641.jpg

Place and Buy Bets

Many craps players are impatient to get a bet down on a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 and don’t want to wait on establishing a point with a Come bet to do so.  For those players, you can do so with Place and Buy bets.

Place bets on the 6 or 8 win if the selected total is rolled before a 7.  These bets will stay active until either event happens or the player takes down the bet.  Winning Place bets pay 7 to 6 odds.  The probability of winning is 45.45% and the house edge is 1.52%.

Place bets on the 5 or 9 work the same way but pay 7 to 5 odds.  The probability of winning is 40% and the house edge is 4.00%.

A bet on a 4 or 10 is known as a «Buy» bet instead of a Place bet, but works much the same way.  Winning bets pay 2 to 1, less a 5% commission based on the bet amount, if the player wins.  This equates to 39 to 20 odds.  The probability of winning is 33.33% and the house edge is 1.67%.  Some stingy casinos may require the commission be paid on losses as well, which increases the house edge to 4.76%.

My trainer conveniently labels these bets correctly as Place and Buy.  Many Internet casinos offer both Place and Buy bets on all numbers, in which case the better odds are on the Place bets on the 5, 6, 8, and 9 and Buy bets on the 4 and 10. In live casinos, just tell the dealer what number(s) you want to bet on and it will be understood what you want and winning bets will pay the odds stated above.  Make sure to make bets on the 6 and 8 evenly divisible by $6, on the 5 and 9 by $5, and the 4 and 10 by $20, assuming wins are rounded down to the nearest dollar.

Are Strategies helpful?

Which strategy works?

No strategy is fool proof, yet a strategy which advises placement of odd bets is the one which works i.e. placing odd bets on pass line/come bets and don’t pass line/ don’t come bets helps in further lowering down of the house edge and hence increases the chances of winning.

For instance, the following strategy has been named Safe Craps system:

  • In this strategy a player bets on ‘don’t pass’ bet in the beginning and once the point has been established one makes an equal bet on point too i.e. the player places an odd bet too and since it is being placed on a don’t pass bet it is referred to as ‘laying odds’ in craps terminology.
  • It means that you are placing a bet on the possibility of a win if 2 or 3 appear on the roll but if 7 or 11 appear on the roll the bet is lost. Whereas appearance of numbers likes 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 play no role in deciding win or loss. Hence players in addition to ‘don’t pass’ also puts bets on the possible appearance of point values – 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.
  • If the shooter rolls 2 or 3 it is a clear win, whereas if any number from 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 appears the player neither win nor loses and that number is taken as the point value. Appearance of the point value again before the shooter rolls a 7 leads to the loss of the original ‘don’t pass’ bet and as well as the ‘lay odd bet’. Whereas if the shooter rolls a 7 before the point, the player still gets a payout on the original staked amount paid in 1:1 plus profits.
  • Hence it means that once the point has been established the player most probably will never loose. Odds on ‘don’t pass’ bet pays 1:2 on 4 or 10 point value, 2:3 on 5 or 9 point and 5:6 on 6 or 8 point and in this case you have to bet more because the casino’s edge is already low.Note: Once can also place odds with pass line bets as well as with come bets which is usually termed as ‘taking odds’ and reverse of the above discussed scenario is utilized.
  • Players place double the amount of the original bet after the point has been rolled.
  • If point is rolled before 7 then the player wins his original as well as the odd bet and if 7 appears instead then the player losses both the bets.
  • Payouts are also paid in the reverse order for example 2:1 is paid on appearance of 4 or 10 etc. Note: Come bet odds are identical to ‘pass line’ bet odds, with a slight obvious variation that in this case odd bets are placed after come bets

What to Avoid?

  • Avoid systems like Martingale which makes players bet higher in contrast to the offered or probable returns which are much lower.
  • Avoid the following bets:(a)Place bets
    (b)Buy bets
    (c)Field bets
    (d)Big 6 and big 8
(e)Hardways bets and other proposition bets

Craps is a dice game in which the players make wagers on the outcome of the roll, or a series of rolls, of a pair of dice. Players may wager money against each other playing «street craps» or a bank playing » casino craps», also known as «table craps», or often just «craps».

4379d321af48855ff052bdfbaf89fdfe.gif

Most modern casinos use his innovation. Craps exploded in popularity during World War II , which brought most young American men of every social class into the military. The street version of Craps was popular among soldiers, who often played it using a blanket as a shooting surface.

One-Roll Bets or Proposition Bets

fc9db3a00a3df1abdf2a3450d3839cf0.jpg

Craps TipsВ to Better your Odds of Winning

  • Familiarise yourself with all the Craps jargon and rules. Try to do this as soon as you can so that you start playing the game the right way. Without this, you may see losses on the horizon; this could be because you have made bad bets.
  • Stick to a bankroll that you have set. Keep in mind that a player that is stressed, drunk or tired, will not make informed and proper decisions. So, if you feel that your decision making is impaired, rather quit while you are ahead and continue playing at a later stage.
  • Ensure that you do not double your bets simply to cover your losses. It is also discouraged that you double your bets on your wins. This is because of the house edge and the fact that you will be likely to lose because of it. Rather consider betting on odds to increase your bets.

Always remember that looking after and managing your funds is the key to being successful, not only in craps but all other .

«What is this Pass bet,» you may ask. To make the bet, wait for the puck you see in the upper left corner of the screen to be on the black «off» side. Second, place a bet on the Pass line along the bottom of the playing field. You’ll see I put a $100 bet there in this image.

Once your bet is made, you’re ready to roll.  This initial roll of a round is known as the Come Out roll. After you roll, one of three things will happen:

  • Roll is a 7 or 11:  You win even money.  or
  • Roll is a 2, 3, or 12:  You lose. ,   or
  • Roll is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10:  Whatever total you rolled is known as the «Point.» ,  ,  ,  ,   or

If the bet is resolved with a 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12, then the next roll will be a new Come Out Roll.

Otherwise, you’ll notice the black marker that previously said «off» will get turned over to the white side «on» side and placed above whatever Point was rolled.

At this point, after a Point is rolled, the object is to roll that point again before a roll of seven.  If anything else is rolled, don’t worry, just keep rolling until you get either the Point or a seven.  If the Point is rolled first, you win even money.  If the seven is rolled first, you lose.

That’s all there is to it!  Not that complicated after all.  If it wasn’t clear, here is a flow chart showing the rules.

Mathematically speaking, the probability of winning the pass line bet is 49.29% and the house edge is 1.41%.

I would be remiss in my duties if I didn’t warn you that you’re allowed to make a Pass bet when it isn’t a Come Out roll, but you never should. Much of the value in the Pass bet is that there is a 22.22% chance to win on the first roll and only 11.11% chance to lose. If you make the bet late, you’re giving up on that first roll privilege. My game nicely doesn’t even let you make such a terrible mistake. However, in Vegas, a sucker is always welcome.

Crapless craps online

It seems to be a law of the gambling universe. So this is a good thing, right? The answer, as expected, is no. Instead of losing your pass line bet when a craps number is thrown, it becomes a point number. The probability of making a point of 2 or 12 is 1 in 7. The probability of making a 3 or 11 is 1 in 4. Because you still only get even money for your pass line bet, the house edge for a pass line bet in crapless craps is 5. The house edge for a pass line bet in the standard game is 1.

Now you know why casinos push crapless craps. Whether or not you have an advantage in craps is determined by your skill in controlling the dice. The amount you can expect to earn because of your advantage not only depends on your skill, but also the bets you make at the craps table.

In crapless craps, however, the house still has an edge of 0. Compared to the difference in pass line bets, the additional place bets on a crapless craps layout are even more heavily tilted to the house. Placing the 3 or 11 carries a house edge between 6. The 2 or 12 place bets make between 7.

Based on this information, common sense dictates you should play the standard game. But what if the regular tables are full or your spots are taken? What if crapless craps is the only game open? The GTC preferred betting method for random rollers is a pass line and one or two come bets with odds after the 5-count.

If you are a controlled shooter you want to minimize what you bet on random shooters and bet considerably more on your own rolls. With this in mind, a pass or come bet with double odds in standard craps has a 0. The same bet with double odds in crapless craps has a 2.
